EMG/NCV TESTING SINCE 1989 1-800-224-1807 info@nerveandmuscle.com

What Is An EMG

Electromyography (EMG/NCS)

is an accurate test that evaluates the health of the nerves and muscles. During the EMG, the doctor will evaluate various muscles to determine if they are functioning properly. The doctor will place a small electrode inside the muscle to record the electrical activity. A Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) measures the time required for a small stimulus to travel across a nerve.

With new technology and the special techniques developed by Dr. Bingham, this test can be performed with very little discomfort.  We routinely perform this test on adults and children.  This procedure takes about 30-60 minutes. No premedication is required, and you will be able to return to usual activities immediately.

Special note:

This procedure is nothing to worry about. Most patients tell us that they worried for nothing. We also do this test on children. You will be in complete control of this procedure, and you can tell us to stop at any time. We take every effort to make our patients comfortable. We have been performing these tests for 30+ years, and our unique approach minimizes any discomfort.
