Mark A. Ferrante, MD
Mark A. Ferrante, MD received his medical degree at the University of South
Florida in Tampa, Florida, completed an internal medicine internship at Keesler
Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi and a neurology residency at Wilford Hall
Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He then completed an EMG fellowship at
the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and a second fellowship in
Neuromuscular Medicine at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He is board
certified in four areas pertaining to nerve and muscle disorders: Neurology, Clinical
Neurophysiology, Neuromuscular Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He
received the United States Air Force Meritorious Service Award and the AAET
Physician Recognition Award. He is a Professor of Neurology at the University of
Tennessee Health Science Center, has authored 3 Electrodiagnostic Medicine
textbooks and over 20 book chapters, and has lectured over 100 national and
international courses. He has performed over 75,000 EMG studies and is a fellow
member of both the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic
Medicine and the American Academy of Neurology. His primary research interest
is brachial plexus disorders. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting his children and
playing chess.
