Dr. Allred grew up in a small town near Augusta, Georgia. At the age of 17, he joined the Army and is a Desert Storm veteran. While in the Army, he served as a Computer Technician. He then spent several years in Germany as an operating room nurse after completing nursing school there. After returning home to Georgia, he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Augusta University and was accepted to the Medical College of Georgia. Before beginning the medical school program, he joined the Air Force as a second lieutenant. He completed a residency in neurology at the National Consortium in Washington, DC. He later served as the department chief of neurology and sleep medicine at the United States Air Force Academy. He resigned from the Air Force with the rank of Major. He has three sons and two daughters. He and his wife, Shannon, enjoy traveling and camping.
