Welcome to Bingham Nerve & Muscle

Bingham Nerve & Muscle  specializes in state-of-the-art nerve and muscle testing (Electromyography or EMG).  Bingham Nerve & Muscle has become the industry standard for accurate and comprehensive evaluations of the peripheral nervous system (the “electrical system” of the body).

We test the “wires” in the arms and legs. Patients with complaints such as pain, numbness and tingling in the arms and legs often require an evaluation by our clinic. Patients with unexplained weakness of the face, arms and legs often require a visit as well. Physicians at Bingham Nerve & Muscle have devoted our careers exclusively to Electromyography and the evaluation of nerve and muscle disorders.

This narrow focus has given our staff unusual depth of experience and we have become leaders in this field of medicine. We are respected and trusted by hundreds of doctors in the region.

Who Needs an EMG?

Let's assume you are a person experiencing pain, weakness or numbness in the arm or leg.  You want relief quickly. You understand that your treatment will require that your doctor accurately determine the cause of your symptoms.
This is where your EMG doctor plays a critical role. As a nerve testing expert he or she is best equipped to find the answer.

Most nerve and muscle abnormalities can be quickly identified if this procedure is done correctly and then the correct treatment can be prescribed. (Please see the section titled Five things you must know before you pick an EMG doctor)

Perhaps you will require a special medicine or a splint to be worn on your wrist. Alternatively, something like a temporary modification of your activities may be enough to alleviate your symptoms. Sometimes a surgical procedure is required and an EMG will help your doctor determine what type of surgeon you will require. For example, numbness of the hand may be caused by a neck disorder and you will require the expertise of a spine surgeon. If you have a pinched nerve in the hand you may require an orthopedist or a hand surgeon.
If you get pain, numbness, or tingling in the arm or the leg you will need an EMG doctor so that you quickly find the cause and be on the road to recovery. (See the section titled Five most common causes of numbness and tingling)
